A Canadian child reported to her mother for driving drunk

A nine year old Canadian called the emergency number, 911, to alert her mother was driving under the influence of alcohol on board the vehicle, police said Friday.

York Regional Police said in a statement that accused "a woman of 52 years after receiving a 911 call warning her son that his mother was drinking and driving with him in the car," said AFP.

Authorities received a call Wednesday afternoon from a phone, but no one answered. Therefore the police called back and the boy, who was aboard the van, said.

"The boy sounded scared, but he was able to tell the operator your name, I was nine, where he was, the description of the van and where he lived," police said.

"Eventually, her mother answered the phone telling police she had only taken a drink, which was fine, before hanging up".

Police quickly found and arrested the woman in Newmarket, north of Toronto. After spirometry revealed that the blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit, the woman accused of driving while intoxicated and handed the child to his father.
